A seven-year-old boy tragically passed away in hospital after he was knocked over by a vehicle on Sparks Road near Barns Road around 1pm yesterday.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the lifeless body on the pavement.
Operations Director, Garrith Jamison said, “On assessment the child was in cardiac arrest, immediately CPR was started and Advanced Life Support interventions were administered on the scene to the young boy. Miraculously paramedics got a pulse back. The child was then placed on a special stretcher and rushed through to Chief Albert Luthuli Hospital in a critical condition where a trauma team was awaiting the child’s arrival.”
Sadly the little boy passed away shortly after his arrival.
