The driver of a truck sustained serious injuries after a side impact accident at the intersection of Titren Road and the M7 in Seaview, Durban on Tuesday, 7 February 2012.
Netcare 911's spokesperson, Chris Botha claimed that a truck was turning up Titren Road when the other truck smashed into its side.
"Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the driver of the truck travelling along the M7 still trapped in the twisted remains of his vehicle," said Botha.
"While the Netcare rescue officer used the Jaws of Life to free the injured man, medics clambered into the vehicle to stabilise him," added Botha.
Botha stated that after the rescue personnel managed to free the driver from the mangled vehicle, he was immediately taken to hospital.
"After the patient was extricated they transported him to the Netcare St Augustine's hospital for the care that he required," Botha explained.
Botha said the exact details to the cause of the accident is unknown and will remain a subject for police investigation. |
