United Brings Mattress King K.O Cup to Bayview
The Bayview united Division 1 side has made history by winning the Mattress King Cup for the third successive year.
They beat Croftdene FC by 5 goals to 4. Bayview keeper Shane Kallichan made two excellent
reflex saves in the penalty shoot out. The division 1 won the Double (i.e. Smirnoff K.O Cup and the Mattress King K.O Cup).
The Bayview under 17’s are also Mattress King champions. They beat Shall Cross buy 2 goals to 0. United's Senior Manager, Stanley Govensami's comments were, " We lead by example and our juniors follow."
This side has also won the double (i.e. the SCIDIFA K.O Cup and the Mattress King K.O Cup) The under 13 team were the SCIDIFA one day K.O cup champions. The Under 11 lost the SCIDIFA finals in a penalty shoot out. Gary Moodley spokesman for United commented that the club has finished their soccer business for 2008. "We will now be focusing on community projects and feeding schemes. Our targets are the youth in the schools around the Bayhaven zone," he added.
