On the road to success

Scores of young surfers took part at the Junior Surfing National Trials, which took place last weekend at Port Alfred. Surfers came from various provinces including KZN.

The top 9 surfers in the u16 boys and the u18 boys division participated in the Round Robin Surf Off to determine which top four surfers would make the National SA Surfing Junior Team.
Slade Prestwich impressed judges yet again and has been selected to join the SA Team to surf in the u16 boys division at the ISA Junior World Surfing Champs to be held in Equador in March next year.

Slade is one of the youngest boy surfers after Jordy Smith to have been selected for this team.

Sarah Baum from KZN has also been selected to surf in the girls division.
