Lotus FM DJ harassed

Popular Lotus FM deejay Fahim Jamadar is still reeling from shock, following an atrocious incident that occurred recently.
The local heartthrob says the episode has left him "traumatized".
Speaking to the Weekly Gazette, Jamadar said that he was part of a group on a promotional media tour on a cruise line. He was looking forward to the trip, however his ordeal began before he even set foot aboard the ship.

Jamadar claims members of SAPS in full uniform harassed him, together with a group of his friends in full view of other guests.
"A police officer singled us out. They began searching us. We were forced to endure their hands all over our bodies. One off my friends was asked to take off his clothes before being searched," said Jamadar.

He told the Weekly Gazette that he didn't mind being questioned or searched as the police had a job to do, however the attitude and behavior of the police was unacceptable.
"The police were extremely aggressive and refused to give us an explanation as to why we were being searched. They used profanities and were vulgar in the way they spoke to us. When we asked for their names and badge numbers they refused to give us these details. We were taken to a warehouse where we were again searched," Jamadar revealed.

Jamadar believes that he and his friend were victimized because they were Muslim. He said that one police officer commented during the incident, that one of them might have a bomb, which they could use on board the ship.

At the time of going to press Jamadar had not reported the incident to the SAPS but said he would before the end of the week.

Attempts to contact the SAPS for a comment were unsuccessful at the time of going to press.
